Event Review: WBC Annual Summer Rooftop Party at The Hippodrome

  • Published: 28 August 2025

On Wednesday 20th August, Westminster Business Council held our Annual Summer Rooftop Party at the iconic Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square. This event has become a much-loved tradition, kindly hosted by the Hippodrome for the past three years, and once again it was a total sell-out, with over 100 members, guests, and friends of WBC in attendance.

The rooftop terrace provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of connection, conversation, and celebration. Guests were warmly welcomed and treated to a lively and engaging talk from Simon Thomas, Executive Chair of The Hippodrome, who shared stories about the history and legacy of this iconic venue, adding real colour to the evening.

The terrace quickly filled with conversations and new introductions as canapés and summer sharing bites were served. The atmosphere was buzzing, with guests enjoying the opportunity to reconnect with old contacts and form new business relationships in a relaxed summer setting.

One of the highlights was hearing directly from attendees about the impact of WBC events on their businesses. Here’s a snapshot of what people said on the night:

These events are amazing, everyone’s connecting together, everyone’s helping each other and we’re all making a greater London together, saving people money and working as one team.”

Barrie Jacobs, Netec

We’ve found lots of useful contacts, lots of friends, lots of people to do business with through this network and through WBC networking events.

Lev Perlman, Metamindz

I’ve been a member of WBC for about a year. It specialises in these fantastic events all across the City of Westminster. As you can see, a great bunch of people. Highly, highly recommend!

Martin Booth, LeBoo Media

A huge thank you goes to the venue and staff at The Hippodrome Casino for their continued hospitality and support. Their partnership makes it possible to host such a vibrant summer gathering in the heart of London.

Our next opportunities to connect are just around the corner: the WBC Digital Connector online every Friday morning, and our next in-person event, the Hidden Gem at Gaucho on Wednesday 17th September.

Thanks to Ewa Janas for capturing the night so brilliantly.
