In a city known for its abundance of networking opportunities, Hidden Gem June distinguished itself as a standout occasion—offering both a stunning setting at The Orangery and a vibrant atmosphere that fostered genuine business connections.
Hosted by Westminster Business Council (WBC), the Hidden Gem series continues to build a strong reputation for its fresh and effective approach to professional networking. On Wednesday 18 June, over 50 professionals from across London gathered for an evening that seamlessly combined purposeful structure with relaxed engagement.
From the outset, the event was designed to put attendees at ease while encouraging meaningful interaction. The format—a standing drinks reception—encouraged fluid conversations, while expert facilitation by WBC CEO Sophie Shrubsole and Clare Gillbanks, Director of Partnerships and Professional Connector, ensured attendees could make connections of real value.
A defining feature of the evening was the popular ‘7 Second Round’, where each participant introduced themselves briefly to the room. This dynamic and engaging segment provided an immediate sense of who was in the room and helped accelerate networking in an inclusive, energetic way—hallmarks of the Hidden Gem experience.
The evening’s success was also supported by a strong behind-the-scenes team. Professional Toastmaster Andrew Morgan brought structure and elegance to the proceedings, while photographer Bini of Kreative Barn captured both candid moments and professional portraits.
Meanwhile, discreet security provided by Dai Hughes of Carbonite Protect helped ensure a smooth, secure environment—underscoring the professionalism behind WBC events.
One attendee summed it up well: “It’s rare to find a room full of professionals where every conversation feels easy, meaningful, and full of possibility.”
That sense of openness and momentum is no coincidence. Hidden Gem events are thoughtfully curated to create an environment where business relationships can grow organically, but strategically. Whether long-time members or first-time guests, attendees consistently leave with new contacts and fresh perspectives.
As preparations begin for Hidden Gem July, enthusiasm is already building. With the success of June’s event still resonating, the WBC community is clearly ready for what’s next.
